ULTRASONIC THICKNESS MEASUREMENT

COBESERV Ship & Offshore Services engaged in providing Ultrasonic Thickness gauging of Hull Structure which is required periodically for hull surveys .In Accordance to the survey programs of Classification Societies, compiling reports of thickness measurements, preparation of repair sketches for hull structure & technical instructions for steel repair work on all type of
vessels.

Assessing the condition of steel structure and analysing thickness measurement are part of their competence surveys can be carried out worldwide, in ports, in shipyards/drydocks or at sea.

The specialists are highly qualified, certified according to SNT-TC-1A (ASNT UT level II) and equipped with modern portable devices.

  • CAP SURVEY
An assessment of the overall condition of the ship. Based on a detailed ultrasonic thickness measurement and steel strength assessment, a rating is provided.
  • SPECIAL SURVEY
In accordance with IACS’s Unified requirement and with inspectors certified to international standards SNT-TC-1A (ASNT UT level II),COBESERV offers a high quality service to responsible ship-owners and managers, allowing them to fulfil class requirement.
  • ROPE ACCESS SERVICES
Our Specialist are IRATA certified, they work with rope access system which is a safe method of working at height, where ropes and associated equipment are used to gain access to and egress from the work place.

NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING SURVEYS
COBESERV engaged in providing NDT Surveys to Marine, Oilfield (Onshore/Offshore Platforms & Rigs), Hydro, Thermal & Nuclear power station, Petro-chemical & fertilizers.

OUR MANUAL & SPECIALIZED SERVICES

  • ULTRASONIC TESTING
ULTRASONIC TESTING (UT) is a method of characterizing the thickness or internal structure of a test piece through the use of high frequency sound waves. Ultrasonic testing is very sensitive test method for detection of embedded linear discontinuities. It is fast, economical and results are highly repeatable and reliable. At COBESERV, we ensure that all our technicians are competent and certified to internationally recognized standards.COBESERV performs Ultrasonic Testing in accordance with class requirements, client specific requirements.
  • MAGNETIC PARTICLE TESTING
Magnetic particle testing or MPT is a nondestructive testing method for locating surface and near surface discontinuities in ferromagnetic materials. It depends for its operation on the fact that when the material or part under test is magnetized, discontinuities that lie in a cause leakage field to the direction of the magnetic field will cause a leakage field to be formed at and above the surface of the part.
  • RADIOGRAPHY TESTING
COBESERV provides both film-based and digital radiographic services for field inspection an shop fabrication inspections.
    Radiography can :

    • Inspect material of varying density an composition.
    • Inspect assembled and in-service components.
    • be performed with minimum surface prepration.
    • detect both surface and subsurface defects.
  • THERMOGRAPHY TESTING
Thermographic Inspection refers to the nondestructive testing of parts, materials or systems through the imaging of the thermal patterns at the object’s surface. The term thermography alone refers to all thermorgraphic inspection techniques regardless of the physical phenomena used to monitor the thermal changes.
  • VIBRATION ANALAYSIS
Vibration analysis is a process of looking for anomalies and monitoring change from the established vibration signature of a system. The vibration of any object in motion is characterized by variations of amplitude, intensity, and frequency.
  • LONG RANGE ULTRASONIC PIPLINE INSPECTION(LRUT)
Long range ultrasonic testing provides rapid screening for corrosion and erosion in pipelines.Long range ultrasonic testing (LRUT), also known as guided wave ultrasonic testing, is a fast and cost-effective method for inspecting long lengths of pipe. COBESERV specialises in using LRUT at oil and gas refineries and in the downstream processing sector.
